What’s this website?

Moral philosophy, in simplest terms, is the study of how to be a good human being.  Moral philosophers investigate human morality and the delineation between right and wrong, which is often a blurred line.

Every single one of us has had to make a tough moral decision or will have to make a tough moral decision at some point in our lives.  These monumental choices play a big part in defining who we are.  Yet, despite the fact that many thinkers devote their lives to untangling these questions of morality, most of us have never studied the works of these philosophers. This seems counter-intuitive, since being a good and moral person is arguably more important than being good at mathematics or well-versed in history.

Perhaps the writings of these philosophers seem too daunting to unpack.  Or perhaps the ideas of these old philosophers seem to be disconnected from the present day.

However, moral philosophy is timeless and is just as relevant now as it was centuries ago.  The purpose of this website is to present the ideas of great moral philosophers in simple terms and show how their ideas may be applied to present-day scenarios that you or I may face.  This website aims to depict philosophy as not just a relevant but a crucial subject that should be studied by all people seeking to become a better person.
